Course Overview
This course looks at the fiction that reflected and shaped America as it evolved from the post-Civil War age through to early Modernism.
This period spans crucial transitions in American identity, culture and literature. How did writers such
as Henry James, Charlotte Perkins, Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald chronicle and critique a nation redefining itself through unprecedented change?
