Course Overview
Explore the role of Norfolk in the war and its impact on local communities in this fascinating five-week course.
Subjects covered will range from the outbreak of war to the mobilisation and recruitment of local men and women in military and civil wartime organisations and much more. We will look at the creation of civil defence services, evacuation schemes, anti-invasion defences and the Home Guard. Air raids will be explained, including the ‘Baedeker Blitz’ and we will conclude with legacies of the conflict. This is an introductory course, so no prior knowledge is needed
