Russian visual arts are amongst the most breathtaking and challenging works in the world, whether you are passionate about exquisite religious iconography, sumptuous classical paintings of the Tzarist eras, or Revolutionary Russian avant-garde, and beyond. Using illustrated presentations and a range of different media, we will look at the work of important and well-known artists, and explore the complex and intriguing lives and works of the women and men caught up in the maelstrom of revolution in Soviet Russia and its erstwhile empire.
