This course examines America from 1945 to the present, exploring the Cold War; the Civil Rights movement; the Vietnam War; September 11 and the Trump era. We analyse external threats and internal conflicts over race, rights, identity and power. Assessing how prosperity, protest and polarisation shaped modern America across eight decades of dramatic social and political change at home and abroad.
